Congratulations to Margaret and Kathryn Carr winners of this years band awards. This is the first time that both trophies have been won by members of the same family. To mark the occassion the trophies were presented by band vice chairman Edward Carr (yes they are related) |

Brass Band Workshop |

Had a good turn out for the brass band workshop. Some more enthusiastic than others. Hopefully we will see more new faces at Training night on Friday. Some photos have been posted to the Events and Gallery page including the Town Crier taking a well earned rest. |

Busy time coming up |

It is a busy time for the band. Sunday 27th September taking part in the national sponsored Bandstand Marathon in the Ashbourne Memorial Gardens starting at 2.00pm.Saturday 3rd October ATB are holding a Brass Workshop in the Ashbourne Town Hall starting at 10.00am. Hoping to discover new talent wanting to play in a brass band. In the evening we are at St Oswalds church for a concert in aid of the Church Organ Restoration Fund, entry is free. |

The band charity fundraising event for 2009 is now over and its time do dry out the music. 14 sets at 12 venues in 2 days - that was some chellenge Eric. In spite of the weather I think most enjoyed the experience. We are now looking for new arrangements of Singing in the Rain and Handels Water Music. £1040 raised for charity A big thankyou to the roadies Andrew, Craig, Jean, June, Sue H and Sue L who did their best to find us a dry spot at each venue. |

2008 finished on a high for the Band. The Christmas Concert in Ashbourne St Johns Church certainly ended with a bang, 72 bangs to be precise. Photos from the night will be added to the Events and Gallery section as I get them in.At the Christmas Concert the Band honoured E flat bass player Graham Lee for his 40 years of service. Congratulations also to the Bands Presedent Simon (Sam) Ede who announced his engagement to Vicky Hoptroff at the end of 2008. All the best to everone for 2009! |

Sad news for Ashbourne music lovers as Wednesday 19th March sees the funeral of Arthur Chadwick who passed away last week. He was involved with the band for many years and will be sadly missed by us all. |
